Success Story: Rebirth of Sanjay – From Lost Identity to New Life ✨

Date: 16 July 2021

On 16th July 2021, Sanjivanimala Foundation received an urgent call from API Wadaskar Madam, Ganeshpeth Police Station.

She informed our Founder, Ms. Prajakta Chakraborty, about an unidentified 38-year-old man, extremely ill, mentally disturbed and unable to recall anything. She asked if we could counsel him and provide shelter.

Without hesitation, Prajakta ji rushed to the police station.

There she met a man in a heartbreaking condition — swollen legs, trembling body, unable to speak, barely conscious, only able to write one word:

“Sanjay.”

After completing police procedures, the team brought him to Sanjavanimala Foundation antargat Sanjeevani Mala Vruddha Ashram.

When Daniel Kumar began bathing him, the truth surfaced… His body was covered with severe hockey-stick injury marks. His legs were swollen, bleeding, and infected.

His clothes had to be cut due to swelling.

After tea and rest, his condition worsened suddenly —

severe chest pain, breathlessness, almost collapsing.

Immediately, Daniel Kumar, Shiva Sarode & Prajakta ji rushed him by ambulance to Mayo Hospital.

He was admitted directly into ICCU.

Doctors declared his blood sugar critically high and demanded urgent dialysis. Delay meant death.

The team struggled, pleaded, fought the system, arranged emergency funds — and got his dialysis started.

Meanwhile, we posted Sanjay’s photos and appeal across social media hoping someone would recognize him.

THE TURNING POINT

Next evening, around 4 PM, Sanjay regained consciousness.

With tubes in his throat and stomach, he whispered:

“My name is Sanjay Devcharan Jamgade… Peth village, Wardha.”

The video was re-posted.

And then the miracle happened.

A childhood friend saw the post and recognized him.

He contacted Prajakta ji immediately.

Sanjivanimala Foundation’s team and Prajakta ji went themselves by car to Wardha

and brought Sanjay’s parents to Nagpur.

When his father and sister saw him alive, after believing he was dead for 9 months…

No words can describe that moment.

Tears. Shock. Faith. Miracle.

A father regained his son.

A family regained hope.

A child regained her father.

“Sometimes saving a life… saves an entire family.”

Sanjay stayed hospitalized for 6 days and needed two more months of treatment.

Sanjivanimala Foundation wrote to Hon. Dattaji Meghe ji, who agreed to support Sanjay’s free treatment.

He was shifted to Sawangi Meghe Hospital, Wardha.

Our team continuously travelled, visited him, supported emotionally, provided medicines, and mental-health care.

Slowly, he healed.

🌿 A Journey From Lost Hope to New Life

A Heart-Touching Story of Courage, Compassion & Rehabilitation

“When compassion meets commitment, miracles happen.”

4/10/2025 , Hitesh Dada Bansod  social worker from savner , received a call informing from jalalkheda police station them about a mentally unstable missing woman wandering alone and unsafe. Understanding the sensitivity, he immediately contacted Prajakta Chakraborty, the Director of Sanjavanimala Foundation antargat Sanjeevani Mala Vruddha Ashram, for safe shelter and rehabilitation.

At that moment, no other institution was ready to take responsibility for her mental condition.

When her husband was traced, even he expressed helplessness and was initially unable to take her back.

Yet, humanity chose a new direction.

🌼 The Arrival of Urmila Devi Rajput

With police assistance, Mrs. Urmila Devendra Rajput was brought to Sanjavanimala Foundation antargat Sanjeevani Mala Vruddha Ashram, Khaparkheda under Sanjavanimala Foundation.

She had been missing for almost two months.

She was mentally disturbed, weak, frightened and emotionally broken.

She didn’t just arrive at an Ashram…

She arrived at hope.

💛 A Family, Not a Shelter

At  Sanjavanimala Foundation antargat Sanjeevani Mala Vruddha Ashram, she was cared for not as a patient, but as a family member.

She was given:

medical treatment

medicines

personal care

emotional support

counselling

safety

human warmth

Her personal counselling was conducted directly by Ashram Founder, Laxmikant Baba, who stood by her daily, rebuilding her emotional strength.

Slowly, her smile returned…

her health stabilised…

her behaviour normalised…

and faith returned to her heart.

⭐ A Heart-Melting Reunion

After completing all legal formalities, with coordination of the Karera Police (Jhansi), Urmila ji was safely reunited with her family.

Seeing her step into her home with dignity…

seeing her with her children again…

was an unforgettable, emotional moment for the entire Ashram team.
